At First Parish in Framingham, we have long had groups who meet to enjoy fellowship with each other. And we continue to add new ways to connect.

Coffee and Muffins Group

This group is an open gathering of First Parish members, friends and guests who meet Thursday mornings at 8, usually in the Huntley Room. The group is intentionally unstructured and information, with it sole purpose to provide fellowship and discuss any topic raised by anyone in the circle. No sign up required. People are invited to attend whenever they choose and may leave early if desired. The group asks only for a voluntary donation for the coffee and muffins.

Dinner Discussion Group

The popular Dinner Discussion Group attracts up to 25 people for each gathering at an individual’s home for a potluck dinner and discussion about a pre-determined topic. The group provides an opportunity for socializing, sharing, and getting to know other parishioners. The gatherings will be announced in the events calendars, newsletter and the order of service.

Women’s Alliance

The Women’s Alliance is the oldest organized group of First Parish. Its primary focus remain the support of First Parish activities, and a meeting for support and friendship for First Parish women. The Alliance meets at noon on the second Monday of each month from September through May for lunch and conversation, a business meeting and speaker program. The Alliance participates in Pies on the Common, holds a Holiday Boutique fundraiser and annually hosts catered lunches. All women of the parish, members and friends, are welcome to attend meetings and events. For further information contact Susie MacDonald at 508-875-3322.

Multigenerational Gatherings

First parish has several multigenerational opportunities for fun, learning, fellowship and caring for others. This events are intended to contribute to all ages feeling a sense of belonging at First Parish. In the fall, we regularly have a Halloween Party sponsored by the Religious Exploration Council. The evening includes craft activities, potluck dinner and Haunted House created by the Senior Youth Group. The Religious Exploration Council also organizes two multigenerational services, one to celebrate holidays of light in December, and another in the spring. These events and any other multigenerational events are announced in the events calendar, the newsletter and the Sunday order of service.

Men’s Club

The First Parish Men’s Club has been meeting since 1946 to provide an opportunity for men and guests to get know each other better. The Club meets occasionally between September-May. Meetings consist of social time, catered dinner and a speaker, for a nominal fee. Once scheduled, the meeting will be announced in the events calendar, newsletter and order of service.
