In keeping with this year’s theme of mindfulness, we invite you to celebrate the Winter Solstice on a wintry evening. Remember: It’s winter – dress appropriately. Meet at 5:30 at the Labyrinth, then go to the Memorial Room afterwards to enjoy refreshments and warmth until 7pm.
We will savor the crisp winter air and embrace the inky darkness with a brief Solstice Ceremony led by Reverend Hepler.
We will observe the shortest day of the year, calling to the four directions of the Earth, deflecting the darkness with solar-powered lighting.
We will release illuminated paper lanterns to the sky with our reflections on the season.
We will remember that after this day the world turns toward the light.
We will sing hymns to welcome in the winter season.
We will enjoy pumpkin muffins and hot cider.
Hope to see you there!
