Families
For Visiting Families:
What to Expect on Sunday Morning
We look forward to meeting new families! Services begin in the Meeting House every Sunday morning at 10:00, from the Sunday after Labor Day until mid-June.
Wondering what to wear? Be comfortable! The attire is generally casual. Some people like to dress up and wear a hat, some children enjoy wearing their fancy clothes and sparkly shoes. Casual or fancy, both will fit in just fine. Keep in mind for children that they may be going outside to explore and play, or using paint or glue if they participate in the religious exploration classes.
If your family is attending with children, plan to arrive a little early to meet our Membership Coordinator, Sara Morrison Neil, on the steps of the Meeting House, and our Director of Religious Exploration, Rebecca Crawford. All children, regardless of age, are welcome to stay with their families throughout the entire worship service. You are also welcome to explore these options:
Infants to 24 months
A staffed nursery is available for your youngest child(ren) in the Parish House.
Preschool Ages 3-4
A classroom for preschool aged children meets in the Parish House most Sundays just before service begins until just after the service is over. On three-day weekends, children aged 3-4 are welcome to the nursery for childcare.
Elementary and Middle School Aged Youth
School age children join the congregation for the first 15 minutes of service with their families. After opening rituals and hymns, the children leave the sanctuary with their teachers to their age appropriate classroom. Visiting children are welcome to join them and will be directed by the DRE to the appropriate classroom. Parents/Guardians are expected to collect their children at the end of the service in their classroom.
High School Youth
High-school-aged teens are encouraged to stay for the entire worship service and are invited to attend the YRUU meeting for that week, which is either after the service or on Sunday evening. Please check the announcements in the Order of Service, or inquire with the DRE for that week’s schedule.
