Stories of Advantage: A Path to Reducing Extreme Inequality

Chuck Collins grew up in the wealthiest 1 percent and has spent the last 30 years working on issues of racial and economic justice and inequality. He believes powerful narratives of deservedness maintain the unequal status quo –and that telling true stories of advantage will help move us toward a more healthy and equitable society.
Chuck Collins is the Director of the Program on Inequality and the Common Good at the Institute for Policy Studies where he co-edits Inequality.org. He is author of several books about inequality and advantage, including Born on Third Base: A One Percenter Makes the Case for Tackling Inequality, Bringing Wealth Home, and Committing to the Common Good (Chelsea Green).
