From an 1865 gathering at the Charleston race track through two World Wars to modern day, collectively remembering our dead remains an important ritual for the living. On the 50th national observance of Memorial Day, what have we learned about communal grief in times of war and peace?

The Rev. Mr. Barb Greve earned his Masters of Divinity at Starr King School
for the Ministry. At present, he serves as a hospice chaplain with Vitas Healthcare. From August 2017 – June 2020 he served as one of the volunteer Co-Moderators to the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. He currently serves on the board of Meadville Lombard Theological School. He has served as an intentional interim/consulting director of lifespan religious education to multiple Unitarian Universalist congregations. Rev. Greve has been a member of First Parish in Framingham since May 25, 1986.He was ordained by First Parish on May 31, 2020. He is the new Affiliated Community Minister of First Parish in Framingham.
